I love writing about buzzy books on the internet, especially when I discover them much later😄, but for me, every book is biding its time, diligently stacked in my home library. Today I'm going to tell you a little more, about one such book in particular, The Last Mrs Perish by Liv Constantine. I'm going to be quite twisted in my words and just tell you that this blue book is really as exciting as everyone says. The story is instantly captivating and holds so much mystery and twists. It's thrilling and keeps the reader in suspense until the very end. I shared a little bit about it with you on Instagram. I told you that it was chosen as a bestseller in Reese Witherspoon's book club, has sold over half a million copies and has been published in over 30 countries, and as you read from my last lines, there is a reason why these facts are not insignificant. Even Netflix has begun a screen adaptation of the book, and I can't wait to see what kind of movie is created.

The story, a psychological thriller, centers on a woman named Amber Patterson, a rather clever con artist who will stop at nothing to achieve her goal and this time without messing anything up, namely to get involved with Mrs. Perish (a rich woman with a perfect social life) or rather take her place. Amber Patterson is a rather cleverly structured character. She manages to blend in with her surroundings and is very clever, and more importantly quite cunning. Her only goal is to grab hold of the life she never had. Daphne Parrish on the other hand is the perfect prey. She's sweet, she's kind, and to the world she's exactly what Amber is trotting out, a woman who has everything she doesn't - a nice life, a rich husband, money, influence over society, luxury. No one has a clue and her trap works well. After all, she has planned everything down to the smallest detail. But there is only one thing that has the power to derail all her plans, to shatter all her dreams - her past. Ghosts from her past life follow her, and Amber must make sure they stay buried in the past. Otherwise, everything she's worked for so far will go down the drain.
It is extremely interesting to analyze each of the characters while reading the book. They are radically different. Mr. Perish is one of a kind. He is such a different character from the two ladies. There is so much I could write about him because even on his own he is interesting, but why I recommend you find out by reading the book.
In the beginning when I started reading it, I won't deny it, it seemed like chick-lit, but then the mystery took over the pages and I can boldly say that the focus of the book is quite different from a romance novel or anything like that. While the book seems very straightforward in the beginning, it's only later that the complexities and layering begin to reveal their secrets. Needless to say, the book does not disappoint. It holds the reader captive until the very end. Liv Constantine's "The Last Mrs. Perish" is a dark story of unchecked greed, jealousy and one woman's desire to be rich, a desire for a glamorous life. It's a tale of the evil stepmother from Snow White, but in a different contemporary story. A tale of there being one woman who will have it all. Even if it sounds corny, after all the praise for this book, I liked it too. There is so much to talk about and even if someone thinks I'm late reviewing it, for me now is the perfect season to read it. Grab your beach towel and you won't know you haven't entered the sea yet.
