I discovered "It All Started at Hugo's Bookstore" right on December 26 and instantly fell in love with it. It's a book that reads in one breath and is so perfect for those times when you want to "take a break" with a book. When you want something light but enjoyable. Well, this story is just that. I couldn't put it down for a moment. I was taking short breaks just so I wouldn't drop another helping of lean hearts. But enough about me. Let me tell you more about the book and before you continue reading I warn you that I'm going to tell more, so if you don't want to know you can stop reading here.

"It All Started in Hugo's Bookshop" takes you to an old bookstore called The Dragonfly. Even when I read the book and read the title I could picture the vintage style bookstore, with dust on the shelves and armchairs to read, and the name "The Dragonfly", oh yes, fits perfectly. In the bookstore owned by Hugo, Maggie starts to "sour". A young, girl who has lost her job and her direction, who reads romance novels all day. Everyone in The Dragonfly doesn't like the new releases and shiny bookstores, they believe in the magic of old books and gosh, how right they actually are. When Maggie is accepted into a reading club she has to read a book called Lady Chatterley's Lover. Hugo gives her the old edition in which she finds many interesting notes in the margins from two lovers, Catherine and Herry. The two write short letters to each other in the book. So impressed by the story our protagonist publicizes the story and overnight it becomes a sensation. A very interesting adventure begins, an extraordinary one. The love between the pages of this old book, turns Maggie's whole life around. Remember, I told you about the magic in old books.

If I managed to get you even a little bit interested in reading It All Started in Hugo's Bookstore, you won't regret it. It's been a long time since I read something light and engaging. But I'm stopping here because I've already told you too much and this book is magical, just like the vintage bookstores from the Christmas movies.
