The adventure begins here...

It was truly an adventure to read what lies behind the "walls" of this book. A wonderful adventure, in places unknown to me. I've always found it extremely interesting to read about Egyptian cities, culture, and the history of Egypt in general. And their mysterious objects, tombs and pyramids are a mystery not only to me, but to the whole world. Their whole culture is so magical that you can't help but get immersed in the narrative and become a part of the book and what's going on. At times I imagined (as a child reading a tale of knights and princesses) that I was an Egyptologist just like the main character Daniel Knox, overdoing hardships and facing huge mysteries.

On a dusty street in Alexandria, Egyptologist Daniel Knox stumbles upon an object related to the Dead Sea Scrolls, which leads him on the trail of an ancient Jewish sect. Apocalyptic preacher Ernest Peterson has a holy mission, and he's not about to let Knox or anyone else stop him from fulfilling it. At that moment, Knox's girlfriend, Gail Bonar, is kidnapped. A video of her appears on television, in which the terrorists threaten to kill her. Knox is convinced that she is giving him a secret message with the recording. Time presses him, but he sets out for the mysterious ancient Egyptian city of Amarna and the tomb of the heretic pharaoh, where he may also find the answer to the great mystery of the Jewish migration.

The book is a long adventure, not to be missed on autumn evenings when, after a hard day's work, you might drift into the depths of a pyramid, reading old manuscripts on the walls and discovering real witches and bathers lurking everywhere. It's a mystery book, a book that can make the child in you dream again about what you want to be when you grow up, but it also has very deep themes that will make you understand more about a world that holds a lot of history and secrets, a lot of powerful force and things that the whole world can't figure out for years.
