If anyone asks me what my favorite book is I'll be quick and definitive. It's not one, it's a whole series, and it's Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. К. Harry Potter. As cliché as it sounds, stories about the boy who comes to life have excited me since I was very young. If you think this post is going to be short by now I encourage you to make yourself a large coffee, something to eat and if you, like me, are obsessed with these books, enjoy what I am about to tell you. And without much ado and explanation let's ride the broom and dive into a different, magical and adventurous world where there is always room for the different.

I've always maintained that the Harry Potter books are a true phenomenon. Their release on the market then, presented a whole new and different product that is gaining huge momentum, capturing the hearts of readers and I can boldly say there is a reason why. One author, seven novels, movies based on the novels, one play and millions of fans - that's what you can say about the series. It doesn't matter if you've watched or read Harry Potter, because even if you haven't you know who J.K. Rowling is, who has made reading something that brings enjoyment and fun to children and adults alike. Her pages got people talking, arguing, discussing - the plots, the characters, the covers. All this fame started from the release of the first book. The world of Harry Potter is truly magical. In it everything is possible, from flying cars, magicto broomsticks. There the ordinary and the supernatural go hand in hand. Despite all this unlikely magic, the plot comes very close to the reader's reality - death and the catastrophes of everyday life are inevitable, and people's lives are defined by love, loss and hope. The generation that read all the books and went through this thrilling adventure will not be the last, because the novels have achieved colossal success in modern literature. Harry's next big breakthrough, some experts predict, will come when members of the "Potter generation" become parents themselves and start telling the stories to their children. And so the master plan is for Harry to be established, like Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh, as one of the eternal stars of children's stories, with a number of profitable spin-off activities developed around his name. It was only after the book's successful release in the US that readers latched onto it and became massively engaged by the story. After that, sales picked up, the fanbase grew and today there are 450 million Harry Potter books in the world. But there's also no denying that Harry Potter became known to its fans because of the brilliant marketing efforts of its publishers in the U.S., including releasing the book at midnight or a separate layout to appeal to different audiences, fantasy blogs, etc. No matter all these facts, we can argue that there will always be people who will like the series and those who won't. The fact is, for me, the story is much more than seven books. I associate the movies and books with personal stories and experiences. The world of Hogwartsfor me is a place where I can escape and learn that it's good to be different and that magic is everywhere as long as you believe in it: "Words are, in my not so humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. They can both inflict wounds and heal them."- Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The plot of the books is about two young wizards - Harry Potter, Harmayani Granger and Ron Weasley, who are students at the famous Hogwarts School of Arts and Magic. The story revolves around the confrontations between Harry and his parents' murderer, the black wizard Lord Voldemort, who wishes to establish sole power over the wizarding world. The first Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was published in 1997 and quite quickly gained popularity as well as great critical acclaim. The series has been translated into multiple languages. It is attractive to many adults as well as young readers. The books have been translated into 73 languages and have sold over 500 million copies worldwide, making them the best-selling in history. The last four books have made four consecutive records for the fastest-selling books in history, with the seventh selling 11 million in the U.S. in its first 24 hours. The series was originally published in English by two main publishers, Bloomsbury, in the UK, and Skolasik Books in the US:

The main seven books have been adapted into an eight-part film series by Warner Bros. In Bulgaria, the series was translated and published by Egmont.
